i don't like subways. i like the fresh air, the sun, the stars, the beau pi of san francisco. * beauty that's all i need to say. >> thank you very much. the public hearing is closed at this point. members of the board, i have several items i would like to raise here at this point. and i think the first would be the overall thing has been said and i agree with this completely. i'd love to see us go to north beach and fisherman's wharf and the pledge efforts to begin to look at that. there are obviously questions of financing and all of that. but it is certainly worth weill to go. i'm not sure about the suggestion to sauselido. that may be beyond our means at this point. the other two would be a wonderful way to connect the entire city. and i'll also talk a little about the timeline. i think i agree with the notion of changing the resolution to bring it back to the board before the director of transportation makes the final die significance. i would suggest that the language be something along the lines of the second meeting in january which should be the third tuesday in january -- >> n

is an american staffordshire terrier. this is in san francisco. that is where charlie lives. charlie is in danger of losing his family and his life. charlie was taken to a park where animals are allowed to run off leash. he got into an incident. police say charlie attacked a horse with a cop on his back. because he is a pit bull, charlie has been taken from his owner. >> oh, wow. that's a big gouge on the horse's thigh. >> the dog went after a horse with a cop on it. >> yes. >> oops. >> this is charlie's owner. he's really disappointed. >> i'm a little nervous but i'm trying to be optimistic. >> ktvu talked to the owner of charlie before a hearing where police were going to hear from the park's officer that was involved in the incident and the dog's owner. >> he was just completely covered by gashes, blood. the dog chased my horse for 1.6 miles. that's unheard of. >> this incident happened making it really hard to argue in the favor of this dog in this particulars case. >> what the owner was saying is that you have farm animals like a horse in an area where dogs domesticated

. but there are delays because of bad weather. we checked in with san francisco international airport just a short time ago. they say right now, flights to and from the new york region are delayed by up to an hour. that's because of a big storm hitting the northeast. >>> that storm is packed with tornadoes and snow flurries. cbs reporter danielle nottingham tells us six deaths are blamed on this powerful system. >> reporter: the clean-up is beginning in the gulf states after a series of tornadoes hit on christmas day. >> whoa! it's right here, it's right here! >> reporter: in mobile, alabama, twisters ripped roofs off homes and toppled trees in texas. in all, more than 100,000 are without power across most of the south. >> i was screaming and hollering, i mean, i was just scared to death. >> reporter: the national weather service recorded at least 34 tornadoes from texas to alabama. the same storm system is bringing snow to the midwest from oklahoma to pennsylvania. blizzard warnings are out from arkansas to maine. in indianapolis, white-out conditions are making driving treacherous.

. i'm a member of save muni. for four years here in san francisco. i'm here to address the central subway construction option of north beach * . our last meeting was november 19th, which has been mentioned, when we finally had representatives of the mta present what they plan to do, and nobody in north beach had heard or agreed with any of it. so, i mentioned at that meeting that i have never missed a vote. i've been in this city for 45 years, but i couldn't remember having voted on this project. i was informed correctly that the taxpayers voted for the subway in the late 1990s for a $6 47 million expense, which is now $1.58 billion, with a b. the whole project is too little too late.

things we should do when i grew up in san francisco was we would have a day called using government day, and i would, everybody in the class would get to go down and sort of shadowed a member of the board of supervisors of the mayor or the city attorney are somebody and see what his job was like. and what a good thing that was. i remember that. and one of the reasons, architecture that i was in china, but one of the things i thought was great in architecture is in australia, they have changed now, but they built a parliament. and this parliament, whatever architecture reason, it goes up like this. it's huge, and the building goes down almost to the ground and it's covered with grass, the whole ceiling. so what the children, would come in droves in the buses and they would go to the top and they would go down like that. and i thought what a good idea. the association in their mind will be this democratic government of australia, and it has a place where i can go and roll downhill, so they'll have a positive association and it will make you more interested and they will learn about it
